Cat 5e, Cat 6 and Cat6a Cables

Applications Overview

Ethernet cables network media, allowing for the transmission from a transmitter to a receiver. We offer a range of Category 5E (Cat 5E) and Category 6 (Cat 6) twisted pair conductor data cables, offered as Unshielded Twisted Pair (UTP) and Foiled Twisted Pair (FTP) where a shield is wrapped around the outside of the pairs.

Cat5E cable is available with Polyethylene (PE), Polyvinyl Chloride (PVC) and Low Smoke Zero Halogen (LSZH) sheaths. The cables can be provided with armoured protection against mechanical and environmental factors, with either a Galvanised Steel Wire Braid (GSWB) or Steel Wire Armour (SWA). This makes them suitable for external use and burial.

Cat6 is the standardised cable for Gigabit Ethernet and remains backwards compatible with Cat5E, while featuring stricter specifications for crosstalk. Cat6 cable is available in PE and LSZH variations.

Also available are 25-Pair High-Performance Backbone cables, available in LSZH or in PE suitable for outdoor use (in a duct). These 25-pair cables can be installed in 100Base-T, Gigabit Ethernet, 155Mbps ATM, TP-PMD audio, multimedia and telephone networks.
