  Eland Cables supplies the full range of Network Rail-approved cables covering all telecommunications applications across the network, including the safety-critical cables connecting the track side axle counters to the AzLM axle counter system allowing it to detect the presence of a train, and to determine the number of wagons it is pulling and its direction of travel. This is a cable our technical team developed with Network Rail in order to replace its predecessor with a cable maintaining compatibility with the existing hardware and offering rodent protection without using a metallic steel tape. The end result was a cable that met all of the parameters set by Network Rail and which additionally offered superior water blocking properties and a smaller bend radius.
 
Our range of railway telecommunications cables also includes the armoured copper trackside cable for telephony distribution, screening conductors, pilot cables (SCADA) and twin datalink for SSI applications.
