Control Flexible Cable

Control flexible cables are designed for a wide range of industrial process automation applications, including signal transmission, measurement and control. These interconnecting cables are widely known by their product names, and the most commonly used are CY, SY, YY, LiYCY and LiYY. They are also referred to as machinery supply cable, motor cable and robotic cables. Depending on their construction properties they are suitable for use under light, medium or high mechanical stresses. They also offer various degree of protection against electrical interference and resistance to caustic substances and oils.
Some defining characteristics of these cables are:

YY control flex – versatile unscreened or unshielded cable suitable for most situations where there is only light mechanical stress.
CY control flex – multicore screened flexible cable with Polyethylene Terephthalate (PETP) for electromagnetic interference free-transmission.
SY control flex – flexible shielded cable with galvanised steel wire braid for additional mechanical protection.
LiYCY – shielded screened cable for applications where moderate mechanical stress and electromagnetic screening is required (EMC).
LiYY control flex – unshielded cable and unscreened cable for light duty in dry and humid environments.

Our control flexible cables can be used in fixed or flexible installations and are available with Low Smoke Zero Halogen (LSZH) or Polyvinyl Chloride (PVC) oversheath depending on application requirements. Our control flexible cables are manufactured in accordance with British Standards BS EN 50525-2-51 and BS EN 50525-3-11 as well as a wide range of International Standards including VDE 0250.
