Railway Signalling Cable - NR/PS/SIG/00005

See full range below

Applications Overview

Signalling cables play an essential role in ensuring the smooth running and reliability of the railway network, hence their unique specifications and design. They ensure the transmission of signals and a continuous power supply across all trackside signalling equipment applications. These cables are used for control and signal conveyance and keep the rail networks, with their passengers and cargo, moving safely.

Eland Cables offers a comprehensive range of Network Rail-approved signalling cables, with specific applications designated by Type, and available in single, twin and multi-core varieties. Cables to this specification have an insulation which is either an elastomer or Low Smoke Zero Halogen (LSZH) type with tinned copper conductors. They have a voltage rating of 650/1100V.

Specific Applications

NR/PS/SIG/00005 Signalling Type A1, A2, A3, A4 Cable
This light-duty flame-retardant LSZH insulated or insulated and sheathed cable is generally for internal use. It has a Class 2 stranded tinned conductor. The smooth sheath is suitable for free wiring installation in ducting including relay rooms, signal boxes, REBs and location cases.
NR/PS/SIG/00005 Signalling Type B1, B2 Cable
A heavy-duty Ethylene Propylene Rubber (EPR) insulated and heavy-duty Polychloroprene (PCP) sheathed cable with Class 2 stranded tinned conductor, this cable protects against mechanical impact, oils and greases, and other abrasions that are a normal part of railway usage. This signalling cable is used between equipment boxes, signal boxes, relay rooms and location cases.
NR/PS/SIG/00005 Signalling Type C1, C2, C3 Cable
A heavy-duty signalling cable suitable for tails, with a Polyethylene Terephthalate (PET) Separator tape and a Class 5 stranded tinned conductor. The C3 type is for TPWS applications and has Drain Wire and Aluminium Tape (AL) Screening.
NR/PS/SIG/00005 Signalling Type D1, D2 Cable
This Type D cable with Class 2 stranded tinned conductor has a LSZH sheath and a PET Separator tape. For Type B1/B2 applications in tunnels and underground. With additional fire performance.
NR/PS/SIG/00005 Signalling Type E1, E2, E3 Cable
This Type E cable is a Class 5 stranded tinned conductor with a Low Smoke Zero Halogen (LSZH) sheath. The E3 type has Drain Wire and Aluminium Tape (AL) Screening. For Type C1/C2/C3 applications when used in tunnels and underground. With additional fire performance.
